The Westford Nominating Committee on April 28 set a recruitment process to fill two municipal posts: Town Treasurer and Delinquent Tax Collector. Committee members agreed to select two resident members to join the nominating committee, post the job openings concurrently, and prioritize candidates with municipal experience and software skills. Pat Haller read the sections of the Town Charter relevant to the appointment of the treasurer and delinquent tax collector as part of the discussion.
The group agreed to advertise the vacancies through local and regional outlets including Front Porch Forum, Essex Reporter, Seven Days, the Vermont League of Cities and Towns and the Town website. Committee member Tommy O’Connor provided a compensation estimate for the Town Treasurer role—about $38.80 per hour for roughly eight hours per week—and noted that statutory reporting requirements for the Delinquent Tax Warrant would still apply if one person held both roles. The committee named May application and June interview windows to keep the schedule on track and tasked members with outreach and draft-post preparation.
