Main Canyon Road CDBG project on track; environmental clearance awaits final stormwater master plan
Summary
Council staff told Wallsburg that profile grinding and a chip-seal for Main Canyon Road are scheduled for mid‑June 2026, and that the state has approved the stormwater study’s environmental document only once the stormwater master plan is complete and the mayor signs the approval.

Council staff updated the Wallsburg Town Council on the Main Canyon Road Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application and project schedule during the May 7 meeting. Work planned for spring 2026 includes profile grinding in problem joints, chip‑seal of the roadway and final striping; the chip‑seal was scheduled for June 15, 2026, with completion anticipated by June 30.
Staff said the environmental clearance for the construction segment requires tribal consultation (30 days) and that the state reviewer (Brandon Clark, referenced in the presentation) will not approve the environmental document until the stormwater master plan is complete. Staff reported they had received the contract and were finalizing a draft stormwater master plan for council review in advance of the next meeting. The mayor’s signature will be required after state approval.
