Brooks County Commissioners approved a series of offers to purchase tax-sale properties during the Oct. 11 meeting. The Court approved six separate offers (Suit Nos. 10-06-01870-TX, 14-02-02062-TX, 14-02-02066-TX, 18-08-02279-TAX, 20-0702332-TAX, 22-07-02409-TAX) with recorded purchase amounts of $900, $800, $500, $1,000, $500 and $2,000 respectively. All motions passed; the item for Suit No. 14-02-02062-TX recorded one dissenting vote from Commissioner Rolando Gutierrez (vote: Yes = 4, No = 1).
Each offer included a property description read into the record (lots, blocks and subdivisions as recorded in Brooks County deed/map records). For example, Suit No. 10-06-01870-TX concerned Lots 23 and 24, Block 13, La Colona Mexicana Addition (approved for $900). The Court approved the motions as presented; the minutes note the approvals were recorded and placed on file.
