Brooks County authorizes RFPs and RFQs for $1M Colonia Fund water/wastewater projects

Nelda Barrera told the Court the program provides $1,000,000 in funding with no county match and focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure; the application deadline is Dec. 2, 2024. Commissioner Martin "Marty" Cabrera moved the motion and Commissioner Eduardo "Eddie" Garza seconded; the vote was unanimous.
"This is 1 million dollars grant in funding with no county match and a deadline of December 2, 2024," Nelda Barrera said when describing the program and focus on infrastructure improvements. The authorization directs county staff to proceed with procurement steps for both administrative and engineering services to meet the state program deadline.
