County rejects noncompliant low bidder; approves RBO-compliant township sealcoat bids

Chairman Richard Brunk said Taylor Ridge Paving was rejected because it did not have an approved apprentice program required by the RBO, prompting staff to highlight alternate low bids. "It was determined that Taylor Ridge paving did not comply with our Responsible Bidder Ordinance due to that fact they do not have an approved Apprentice program in place," Brunk said. Committee members approved the RBO-compliant low bids, which staff had highlighted in the revised packet.
The committee's action enforces the county's procurement standards and directs work to bidders meeting local workforce or apprenticeship requirements; the motion carried by voice vote.
