Selectboard reviews three town-building concepts; community meeting planned
Summary
Planning firm VIA presented three conceptual options for town buildings: joint buildings with shared utilities, moving Town Hall to the existing Town Office site, or purchasing 86 acres across from Town Hall/Library for a new complex. The board asked staff to continue researching historic-building constraints and to schedule community engagement.

Kelly Flynn summarized three conceptual scenarios developed by VIA for the town's building needs. Concept 1 would combine functions into joint buildings with shared septic, water and an elevator; Concept 2 would move Town Hall to the existing Town Office site and leave the library in place; Concept 3 would pursue purchase of an 86-acre parcel across from Town Hall and the library to site a new Town Hall, parking and septic, with the possibility of subdividing remaining acreage for building lots.
Board members asked Flynn to continue checking constraints related to historic buildings and to schedule a community meeting to review options, costs and timelines before any decision on land purchase or design direction.
