District reports $300,000 fencing grant, $150,000 ADA award and $100,000 PUD energy grant

Superintendent Bruce Todd told the board on Jan. 27 that the district has been awarded a $300,000 safety and security grant to complete fencing around school grounds and a $150,000 ADA grant to widen an Ag classroom doorway and install automated door openers on doors leading into the Ag classroom and shop.
Todd also reported a $100,000 Douglas County PUD energy grant intended to replace windows and doors; the grant was noted as being awarded in 2026 and expected to be finalized at the end of January. The superintendent said the district had applied for a $200,000 Healthy Kids, Healthy School grant for fitness equipment and playground improvements.
