Weston authorizes road foreman to pursue mini excavator up to $140,000

The Weston Selectboard voted unanimously March 11 to authorize Road Foreman Jeff Yrsha to research and acquire a mini excavator for town use, with an expenditure cap of $140,000.
Yrsha told the board the machine would "significantly improve efficiency in ditch work and mitigate potential future flooding," and asked for the authority to proceed with vendor research and acquisition. Jim Linville moved to authorize the purchase and Linda Saarnijoki seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Yrsha also asked for clarification on recent State Aid to Highways allocations. Kim Seymour agreed to review the figures and meet with Yrsha to reconcile any discrepancies in the town's recent state funding distributions.
