The board voted 5‑0 to deny the application; commissioners cited pedestrian and traffic concerns and limited lot size as reasons they could not find the site plan compatible with the surrounding area.
The congregation’s leaders said they have used rented spaces for decades and are seeking a permanent home; they indicated they will consider other sites or a smaller program if they pursue future applications.
