Butler County EMS to replace training-room furniture; School Outfitters low bidder at $14,060.06

Frank Williams, Butler County EMS Director, told the Board the El Dorado station training room seats up to 42 with tables and is used daily for training, classes, and interdepartmental meetings; chairs are more than 20 years old and several have been retired as unsafe. Four bids were solicited; School Outfitters submitted the lowest bid that met specifications at $14,060.06 and staff recommended awarding the purchase to them. The Board voted 5-0 to approve the purchase.
Williams said EMS frequently borrows furniture from the Butler County Community Building because current tables and chairs do not meet the room’s capacity or safety needs. The bids listed in the record included Affinity Office Furniture ($29,613.56, alternate $26,233.56), Navrat's Inc. ($43,964.10, alternate $23,737), School Outfitters ($14,060.06, alternate $15,852.56) and Uline ($14,616.68). Commissioner Jeff Masterson moved to approve School Outfitters' bid and Commissioner Kelly Herzet seconded.
