Council members reviewed suggested changes to the Town Procurement Policy intended to update delegation of purchasing authority and purchase thresholds to better reflect current costs. Town Engineer Schroeder provided an updated draft for Council review. Rather than adopt changes at the April meeting, Councilmembers agreed to table the item to the May meeting to give members more time to examine the revised thresholds.
Council discussion focused on aligning procurement thresholds with rising costs of goods and services and ensuring any new contract language conforms with existing procurement rules. No vote was taken and no spending authority was changed at this meeting.
