Piedmont council directs staff to draft 1% emergency-services sales tax language

Following an executive session, Mayor William H. Mayor Kirkpatrick told the council that the city’s sewer loan payments exceed $333,000 per year and that reserve balances had been reduced by high sewer payments and slow sales tax receipts. The council did not adopt any taxes at the meeting; it directed staff to prepare draft language for council review at a future meeting.
