The Piedmont City Council voted unanimously Oct. 8 to select Smith and Company of Poplar Bluff as the engineering firm to provide mapping and consulting services for the city’s CDBG-funded comprehensive plan. Alderwoman Karen Townsend moved to select Smith and Company, noting the firm received the highest evaluation score of 1,039 points; Alderman Kyle Allen seconded the motion and the council approved it contingent on CDBG program approval.
The council recorded that Crawford Murphy and Tilly of St. Louis earned 896 evaluation points in the solicitation. The decision was procedural and contingent on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program’s acceptance of the city’s firm selection; no contract was signed at the meeting. The motion was passed unanimously by the four members present.
