The Asotin City Council opened a public hearing at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 25 to receive comment on the city’s preliminary 2025 budget and proposed increases to the regular levy and the EMS levy. Mayor Dwayne Paris conducted the hearing.
Councilmember Steve Cowdrey moved to close the hearing after no members of the public spoke; the motion (Cowdrey/Ottmar) passed 4–0 and the hearing was closed at about 5:37 p.m. The hearing record notes no oral statements were received during the open period.
The hearing is part of the council’s process to finalize levy amounts and the preliminary budget before adoption steps later in the budget cycle. The council later scheduled a first reading of an ordinance adopting the 2025 budget (Ordinance #2024-894) during the same meeting.
