Weber told the Selectboard the VEPSA grant will cover engineering costs and that several locations were considered but the Transfer Station—specifically a plateau behind the salt shed down the hill—appears least disruptive to highway operations. He asked for permission to have an engineer "poke around" at potential sites, and the board granted that permission. Vice Chair Craig Hammer questioned how the project qualifies as renewable, and Weber provided an explanation during the discussion.
The action authorizes exploratory engineering only; no site selection or construction funding was approved. The utility and town will return with findings and any formal proposals requiring Selectboard approval.
