Natalie Leal told the committee that a community food pantry collaboration with Food Para Todos has increased engagement: the pantry is open on Wednesdays after 2:00 p.m. and the office aims to provide a warm, welcoming environment.
Belsy Mayoral Salcido said Golden Valley Health Centers will pilot a pharmacy food pantry in Merced behind the dental department every third Wednesday of the month for GVHC patients; four other Stanislaus sites offer food to the wider public but the Merced pilot will initially be limited to GVHC patients.
Belsy also described plans to demolish and rebuild the Planada medical and dental clinic, which will close for about a year starting spring 2026 with a mobile unit available during construction and a reopening expected in 2027. Committee members said outreach and language‑appropriate support improved participation at events such as Central Alliance in Delhi.
