Road Department staff told commissioners the county was one of 31 counties in a multi-jurisdictional planning grant for bridges and recommended paying $3,354 to Lauderdale County for engineering work performed on the county's behalf for the planning phase. Staff said the planning grant was approved and that the construction grant application must be submitted by June 28; if awarded, the county could perform a hydro-blasting project on a bridge on Wolf Creek Road South.
Commissioners moved and seconded the payment and approved it by voice vote. Staff said the targeted construction application would be developed over the coming weeks and would identify the specific bridge project should the construction grant be awarded.
