Adams County supervisors approve bridge grant support, authorize up to $5 million in loan notes

The Adams County Board of Supervisors met July 20, 2026, and approved a series of infrastructure and financial measures. The board unanimously approved Resolution No. 2026-33 supporting participation as a sub-recipient in a Competitive Highway Bridge Program bundle that includes county bridges FHWA numbers 060110 and 059440 and directed the chair to sign a letter of support to the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Supervisors also instituted proceedings to issue not to exceed $5,000,000 in general obligation capital loan notes to fund urban renewal projects, including bridge and road work tied to an amendment of the Southern Hills Wind Farm Urban Renewal Plan. The board approved distribution of a Preliminary Official Statement prepared with underwriter D.A. Davidson & Co. and adopted a Bond Disclosure Policy intended to comply with SEC Rule 15c2-12; the county auditor was named Disclosure Coordinator. Separately, the board approved a $447,757 contract award for Union 17 to Guss Construction, accepted right-of-way payments for the Prescott 10 Bridge project totaling $3,162.85, accepted the treasurer's annual and quarterly investment reports, and tabled boiler and sidewalk work pending quotes. The meeting adjourned at 10:02 AM.
