Staff: $1,000,000 EPA-linked award for Coosa Valley requires application and administrative support

Kenneth, a county staff member, told the commission that Coosa Valley received notice of a $1,000,000 award through a CDS appropriation under an EPA grant and that the county must complete a formal application for an award it has effectively been told it will receive. "We actually have to fill out a grant application and send it in just like you would the differences that we've already received the funds," Kenneth said, noting that the administrative portion of the award will need support.
Kenneth said Byron Woods reviewed the files and indicated the work is outside the county's normal scope with ADEM grants, so Coosa Valley will need help with administration. He asked whether the commission would be willing to help with administration fees and said he would bring back a better quote at the next meeting.
