The Hesston City Council approved Resolution No. 1203 at its May 18 special meeting to authorize the city’s July 4, 2026 special event. The resolution permits the sale and consumption of enhanced cereal malt beverages in a defined area between 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., and authorizes closure of Main Street and E. Amos Street from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.
Brad Unruh moved to approve the resolution and Michael Wallace seconded; the motion carried 5-0. The minutes record the authorized hours for beverage sales and street closures; organizers will coordinate with city staff on barricades and event logistics per the resolution.
