Mansfield district reports $300,000 fencing, $150,000 ADA and $100,000 PUD grants for facilities upgrades

Superintendent Bruce Todd told the Mansfield School Board the district has been awarded multiple grants intended to upgrade school facilities and safety.
Todd reported the district received a $300,000 safety and security grant to fence school property and is seeking bids so work can begin this spring or summer. He also said an ADA grant for $150,000 was awarded to widen the door between the Ag classroom and Ag shop and to install automated door openers on those entrances. Separately, the district received a 2026 Douglas County PUD grant for $100,000 to replace windows and doors; $80,000 was received in February and the remaining $20,000 will be released upon project completion, the superintendent said.
Board discussion reviewed next steps for bidding and project scheduling. No construction contracts or start dates were finalized at the meeting.
