The Board approved Ordinance 2026-173 to adopt the Town’s annual budget and tax rate for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027. The package includes employee raises; Mayor Charles Morehead noted that his wife serves as City Recorder but that her evaluation and raise fall under the supervision of the Vice Mayor per a prior resolution. "The Mayor stated that he would be voting on the budget with other members," minutes record.
Alderman Michael Paszek moved to approve the budget and Vice Mayor Bob Sanders seconded; the vote was Howington-yes, Sanders-yes, Morehead-yes, Montgomery-yes, Paszek-yes and the motion carried. The Board did not amend the budget text during the meeting. The ordinance takes effect for the new fiscal year on July 1, 2026.
