County transportation staff asked the board to endorse CenterCare Incorporated’s application for a federal Section 5310 grant through PennDOT to purchase another passenger/medical transport van. Dave said the van would transport ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents and that CenterCare already operates one vehicle that is nearing the end of its useful life.
Commissioners discussed that Centre County has periodically provided short-term vehicle support and commended CenterCare’s services; one commissioner said the facility is a significant provider of Medicaid beds in the county. The board moved and seconded to approve the application support and carried the motion by voice vote.
