Commissioners approve $389,487.88 Emergency Solutions Grant application for homelessness services

Jeff, who presented the request, said the grant would fund three program areas: homeless prevention (rental and utility assistance administered by Adult Services), an emergency shelter portion tied to housing transitions and shelter operations, and administrative funds to support the county's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). "So we're asking for a total of $389,487.88," Jeff said. Commissioners noted Housing Transitions assisted roughly 120 people last year and welcomed the continued nonprofit partnerships that support rapid rehousing and case management.
Commissioner Concepcion moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Dershow seconded; the motion carried by voice vote. Commissioners indicated the funding is intended to help keep families housed or move people quickly from shelters to more stable arrangements if the grant is awarded.
