Barbour County commissioners approve contracts to finish fairgrounds event building

The commission approved multiple vendor quotes totalling about $38,943.19 to complete insulation, structural metal, electrical supplies and an epoxy floor for the new event building at the county fairgrounds; materials will be paid from the Coal Reallocation fund.
Barbour County Commission President David Strait convened a June 23 special meeting and the commission approved several vendor contracts to finish the new event building at the county fairgrounds.
The commission approved 3" wall insulation from Builders Center for $2,576.00 and 6" ceiling insulation from Lifetite for up to $3,700.00 after a motion by David Strait, seconded by Bob Richardson. Commissioners also approved Builder Center purlins and screws for $1,189.98 and Milco Metal for metal materials at $7,596.21. Electrical materials from Builder Center were approved for $5,641.00. Finally, the commission approved an epoxy and chip floor contract with Designer Concrete Curbing for $18,240.00; the contractor will also provide a top seal for the fairgrounds stage at no additional cost.
All votes were recorded as 3–0 in favor. Commissioners stated that the materials will be paid from the Coal Reallocation fund. The meeting was adjourned at 2:46 p.m.
