Clerk and council highlight holiday parade, decorations and local transit news; fire recruits named

City Clerk/Treasurer Tina Davidson reported that holiday decorations around town were successful and requested volunteer help to take them down the Saturday after New Year's. Under department reports, the Fire Department reported (via the minutes) that four new recruits are attending the Fire Academy. Councilmember Craig Stein said the PTBA received two new buses. Tim Ottmar thanked parade organizers and participants and told the council, "The ATVs really made the parade!" Steve Cowdrey added a lighthearted holiday remark about the governor pardoning the 'Grinch' as part of the spirit of the season. Planning Commission announced the Jan. 2, 2025 meeting has no quorum and will need rescheduling.
