Whitingham Selectboard adopts family supervision policy tied to highway hire; new employee starts June 1

At a special meeting earlier in May the board determined offering a highway crew position to Blake Janovsky served the town's interest despite concerns about supervision by his father, Stanley Janovsky. To address those concerns the Selectboard adopted a 'Conflict of Interest and Supervision Policy (Family Members)' at the May 27 meeting. The motion to adopt the policy was made by Scott M. Reed and seconded by Rick Gramlin; the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes state both Stanley and Blake Janovsky must read and sign the new policy and that Blake is scheduled to begin employment with the town on June 1, 2026.
