Selectboard members raised concerns after the Fire Department's rental of the Municipal Center dining hall required additional cleaning: pans were not returned to their correct spots and some silverware was left out. Dennis Pike noted the kitchen needs a thorough cleaning that has not occurred since before the pandemic. Ana Castillo updated the facility's cleaning checklist and recommended renters receive a short tour of the kitchen, a verbal briefing on cleaning expectations and a paper copy of the checklist.
The board decided renters must provide a certificate of insurance when reserving the space; Castillo said she would supply information about affordable options for coverage. Members also discussed several minor facility repairs — replacement plungers for upstairs bathrooms, a lifted hallway floor near the closets — and directed that floor refinishing and hallway carpet replacement be included in the FY27/28 budget.
