"They have a company that they could come in and give us a cost savings of $13,980... but the company that has the most cost savings is a company called MedTel," staff said, then cautioned that MedTel would not receive first‑responder priority on Verizon towers. Staff recommended accepting the Verizon credits and continuing to review options in future procurement cycles given the county’s existing relationship and priority network arrangements.
Commissioners asked about ancillary recommendations (e.g., dumpster services), and staff said those suggestions were minor and could be handled separately. The audit team indicated the Verizon change would complete the audit process.
