County to reimburse Lauderdale County $3,354 for VIP bridge planning work

Clay Phillips updated commissioners on the VIP (multi‑jurisdictional) bridge grant awarded in 2023 and said Lauderdale County had led the planning work through AECOM. He reported that planning is complete and construction applications are ready, but Saint Clair County owes Lauderdale County $3,354 for the engineering portion already performed.
"We owe Lauderdale County, $3,354, for the work that's already been done," Phillips said, and commissioners requested a list of the bridges that were in the project group so they could see which local spans are included.
Phillips described one of the county’s bridges as roughly 400 feet long and proposed a bridge‑deck rehabilitation so the structure would last an additional 30 years. Staff said the reimbursement and grant construction application will be placed on the Tuesday agenda for approval.
