EDC reports property acquisition, outreach and 13% jump in June sales tax

EDC manager Selena Tittle told the board the EDC had acquired another downtown property for redevelopment and is continuing predevelopment and business-retention work in the downtown area. "EDC acquired another downtown property for redevelopment, so this is very, very exciting," Tittle said.
Tittle listed recent engagements, including participation in the Made in North Texas industrial manufacturing event, panel appearances, developer meetings, and Collin College steering committee activities. She also provided outreach metrics: five real estate developer meetings, six business retention and expansion contacts, and five predevelopment meetings in the reporting period, as well as modest gains in social media followers and newsletter stability.
On fiscal metrics, Tittle reported that sales tax revenue was up 13% from the prior year for the period discussed: "Our sales tax is up 13% from the previous year," she said. No dollar amounts or budgetary allocations tied to that increase were provided on the record during the meeting.
