The Balch Springs Community EDC approved a marketing sponsorship up to $2,500 for the 17th annual Balch Springs Chamber of Commerce 2026 Golf Classic, scheduled for Oct. 5 at Buffalo Creek. Staff recommended approval and said the sponsorship would be charged to the advertising and promotions budget line.
A presenter representing the Chamber/EDC described the tournament as a “networking” event that draws decision makers, lists sponsorship benefits and noted past attendees who became local investors. “Because 90% of the attendees are decision makers,” the presenter said, arguing the event helps attract developers and businesses to Balch Springs.
Christopher Watson moved to approve the marketing sponsorship and Kelvin Hill seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The presenter thanked the board and invited members to participate and attend the event.
The sponsorship funds will be managed within the EDC’s marketing budget; staff said it will provide follow-up details about the sponsorship package and event logistics.
