Seawall project wraps up; town reviews sidewalk plans toward Gardener’s Landing

The Old Saybrook Board of Selectmen heard an update that the recent seawall project is wrapping up and came in under budget. Chair praised the contractor’s performance, saying "They just did the job," and described construction details including riprap placement and concrete behind the wall.
Chair also reported receiving final sidewalk plans and said he will meet with staff (Jennifer) about implementing part of a trail/sidewalk along the riverfront, from the Dock and Dine property toward Gardener’s Landing. No commitment to specific construction timing or funding was made at the meeting; members discussed temporary fencing left on site and agreed the town will assume the rental until a longer-term plan is decided.
