Park staff report pools, splash pad open; swim team schedule will affect hours

Anderson, a parks staff member, told the Amherst Park Commission that the swimming pool and splash pad are up and running and that staff have not seen pump failures this season. "We have them all up and running," he said, noting the pool opened last Friday and attendance has varied over the weekend.
Anderson outlined the swim-team access and meet schedule: the team uses the pool from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and has three scheduled meets this summer (June 16, July 9 and July 21). "Them dates, the pool will close at 04:00 to give them that they take over the pool at 04:00 so they could have their meets," Anderson said, and staff will reduce the daily entrance fee on those days because public hours are shortened. He also told the commission that the health inspector checked the pool and splash pad and will return two more times this summer (July and August).
