Parks department says it has completed about $36 million in projects over five years

Board members praised the presentation and asked for access to the council presentation and the staff recommendations. Staff said the presentation is available online and said it can distribute slides and a PowerPoint from the council meeting. Staff also described operational challenges in park irrigation: older systems, frequent repairs, and an irrigation maintenance line item that is already about $50,000 over budget for the year.
The department characterized its work as ongoing and said decisions about repairs or replacements for large regional parks will require both structural assessments and policy direction from the board and council.
