During the work session portion of the Nov. 4 meeting the board discussed whether to fund the county solid-waste contract through the general property tax levy or by assessing individual parcels for service. The 2026 preliminary budget currently includes solid-waste expenses in the levy; commissioners asked staff to prepare comparisons showing impacts on different landowners.
Staff were directed to return findings at the Nov. 13 work session. No decision was made at the Nov. 4 meeting; the item remains under study and will be revisited for a policy decision.
