Big Stone County adopts deed restriction to preserve Toqua Park for public recreation

Big Stone County adopted Resolution 2025-13 at its Nov. 4 meeting to comply with the State of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Recreation Project Contract LW27-01493. Coordinator Pam Rud presented the resolution and the board carried it unanimously.
The resolution requires the county to record a deed restriction and manage the property described in the attached exhibit for public outdoor recreation consistent with the grant. It states that land acquired or developed with Land and Water Conservation Fund assistance may not be converted to other uses without prior written approval of the Minnesota DNR Commissioner and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
