Jones County Conservation Board approves Habitat Stamp grant application for Hale Wildlife Area north addition

The board approved a resolution authorizing the application and agreeing to comply with the covenants of Section 110.3, Code of Iowa 1981, and Chapter 23 (290) of the Iowa Administrative Code. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Russ VonBehren and seconded by Dean Zimmerman; the vote recorded John Carlson, Russ VonBehren and Dean Zimmerman in favor and Jon Zirkelbach opposed.
The board also approved a separate motion to proceed with an appraisal of the property addition. Dean Zimmerman moved to approve the appraisal acquisition, the motion was seconded by Russ VonBehren, and the board voted unanimously to proceed. The approvals advance the county’s effort to expand wildlife habitat, subject to grant award and any additional administrative steps required by the Iowa code cited in the resolution. The board noted no additional conditions in the minutes; the application and appraisal are the next procedural steps.
