Brooks County Commissioners moved through routine business on Sept. 12, approving regular and special meeting minutes, bills and claims, and monthly departmental reports. The Court recorded unanimous approvals for bills and the Tax Assessor Collector's August report.
County Judge Eric Ramos read a proclamation commemorating National GEAR UP Week; the Court approved the proclamation on a motion by Commissioner Martin "Marty" Cabrera, seconded by Commissioner Horacio Villarreal III. The minutes also note staff and departmental submissions from the Treasurer, Auditor, County Foreman, Justice of the Peace precincts, library and landfill supervisors; those reports were entered into the record as submitted and the Tax Assessor Collector report was specifically approved.
The Court also handled several procedural items related to correcting previous meeting minutes; those corrections were tabled together and the vote record shows the motion to table passed with two yes votes and one abstention (Commissioner Cabrera abstained).
