Benbrook council orders Nov. 3, 2026 general election, authorizes joint contract with Tarrant County

The Benbrook City Council on July 16 unanimously adopted a resolution ordering the general election for council places 2, 4 and 6 for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and authorized the mayor to execute a joint election contract with Tarrant County.
City Secretary Beth Fisher told the council the joint arrangement allows access to countywide vote centers and county-provided voting equipment, polling locations, election workers and training. "Tarrant County provides voting equipment, polling locations, election workers, training, and required election administration," Fisher said, noting Attachment A listing polling locations would be modified once the county finalizes participating sites.
Fisher said the county will assess Benbrook's share of costs in proportion to the number of political subdivisions participating. Councilmember Tyner moved to adopt the resolution and authorize the mayor to execute the joint election contract; Mr. Phillips seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The action formalizes the city's request to participate in Tarrant County's joint-election services for the November 3, 2026 election and directs city staff and the mayor to execute the forthcoming interlocal contract when presented.
