VFW chaplain announces Memorial Day service at Benbrook City Hall

John Berry, chaplain for the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Benbrook, told the council the VFW will host a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 25 at 8:00 a.m. in front of City Hall. "We're going to be responsible for putting on the memorial service this coming Monday, May 25. It will be at 8 in front of the City Hall," Berry said, and invited community participation.
Berry described plans to place flags in veterans' graves at Mercedes Cemetery following the ceremony and thanked the city for accommodations to hold the event on the City Hall front lawn. The council acknowledged the announcement and encouraged residents to attend.
