City manager: new ambulance arrived, hurricane season preparations and summer programs announced

"Our new ambulance arrived... it still has to go through a couple of inspections and licensing and certification, but it will be placed in service soon," Erin said.
Erin reminded residents that hurricane season began June 1 and urged people to sign up for the city's Prepare Bel Air and STEER special‑needs check programs via the city website. She said mosquito spraying is scheduled to start June 9 and will be performed on Tuesdays after 10 p.m.; residents may file an annual no‑spray request. Erin also announced pool hours beginning June 6, Camp Paseo attendance is expected to grow from about 70 to 200 children once local schools are out, and the library's summer reading program is underway. The city also hosted a May 27 blood drive with roughly 17 donors; staff estimated those donations helped save 51 lives.
Councilmembers asked follow-up questions about scheduling a budget workshop, the upcoming fee study, and neighborhood outreach; staff confirmed a boards-and-commissions appointments workshop is scheduled for June 8 and that the fee study (Guldan) will be shared before the FY27 budget discussions.
