Miss Canada, presenting for Magnolia Music Theater, told the board the production is "full steam ahead in show mode," describing an intense schedule of stage builds, rehearsals and technical work that has required volunteers and outside contractors.
She said the company has engaged a professional wig designer, Tara, for the production and has been documenting the build with time‑lapse video. Promotional work is underway: posters and postcards have been distributed to hotels and local shops, a Hill Country Galleria press release was approved, and staff are pursuing live television segments. "Our social media content is all going now, and we have gotten massive, massive amounts of views on it," she said, adding she had seen web traffic increase by about 40% already.
Miss Canada also outlined schedule and logistics: a combined band/cast rehearsal will occur June 27, tech week will start July 5, a Bee Cave preview is scheduled for July 14, opening night is July 15 and closing night is August 15; the company expects to vacate the Galleria by August 21. She noted Sonesta has agreed to three tiered room discounts and that Southern Snow will be the sole vendor for the run; Southern Snow previously donated 15% of proceeds (about $1,500) to Magnolia.
The presenter asked the board to attend the city preview on July 14 and confirmed coordination with the Galleria about amplified sound and scheduling. There were no formal actions requested of the board during the presentation.
