The Balch Springs Type B economic development board approved a supporting sponsorship for the Best Southwest legislative breakfast series, authorizing up to $7,750 for the city to purchase marketing exposure and four seats per sponsorship.
Staff described the series as a county-area breakfast forum for developers, business owners and elected officials and said the sponsorship includes website placement and one session feature that will provide marketing visibility for the city. “This is your annual legislative series supporting sponsorship opportunity in which we are invited…we’re asking for that support again,” staff said. The sessions run every Friday in August and typically feature different state representatives; the board was told that registration and speaker schedules will be shared after sign-up.
Board members asked how many seats the sponsorship provides (staff said four) and how topics or participants vary; staff confirmed the lineup and encouraged members to sign up if they want to attend. Kelvin Hill moved to approve the sponsorship, Irvin Amazon seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
