Collector road, utilities under construction at Alexander Village; staff targets year-end infrastructure completion

Staff updated the board that construction is underway on the Collector Road that will connect Belt Line Road to Interstate 20 and that crews have started infrastructure work including culverts and sewer. "We started construction with the, the infrastructure, the collector road," the staff presenter said, pointing to in-progress work on the site.

Staff said the Collector Road and associated utilities are targeted for completion by the end of the year to support the Alexander Village development and that the developer has secured permits and access agreements. The road is intended to provide primary access to the mixed-use sites and to encourage retail and residential tenants to locate in the development. Staff also said they plan to publicize progress on the city website and consider a groundbreaking or ribbon-cutting for the first retail tenant once site work is further along.
