Council awards temporary landscape maintenance contract after contractor termination

Council discussed problems with the previous landscape contractor, the emergency stop-gap arrangements made for the Independence Day period, and the selection of Golden Standard Tree and Lawn to perform weekly turf and grounds maintenance. Staff said the contractor had been working under an emergency arrangement and had the equipment and availability to take on the city's scope quickly.
Council approved the temporary agreement (item 6.8) on a 4–1 voice vote. Staff said the short-term award will be followed by a formal procurement process in the fall to seek a longer-term vendor and that payments will be handled via weekly invoicing after inspection.
