Colleen Violette proposed merging two commission subcommittees—sustainability, financial and legislative, and partnerships, program stakeholder and community engagement—citing overlapping work and a lack of co-chairs for some groups.
"I am proposing, for a vote to merge the 2 subcommittees," Violette said. The chair indicated support and asked Colleen to perform a roll-call vote. Multiple commissioners were recorded as saying "Approve" during the roll call (for example, Brian Cornier, Jackie Santiago, Leonard Jihad, James Doddington, Deborah Davis, Tyshawna Wiley, Manisha Jutani, Nina Holmes and Patrick McCormick were noted as approving). When the roll call concluded, the chair confirmed the motion had passed.
Commission staff will work with members to name the new combined subcommittee and identify co-chairs; the merged group will continue the subcommittees’ training and stakeholder engagement work.
