Colleen Violette, representing the Department of Public Health’s Office of Firearm Injury Prevention, told the commission that DPH released a press release naming six cohort‑3 grantees for the office’s grant program.
"A press release was released by DPH yesterday, announcing the 6 grantees for our cohort 3," Violette said, and she listed the grantees as the cities of Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, Waterbury and Lehi Light Health District. Violette said the agreements began in March and program implementation is already underway; DPH will provide quarterly updates to the commission and share the press release and follow-up materials with members.
Commissioners welcomed the update and asked that DPH share the slide deck and contact information for local implementers for follow-up questions and coordination with subcommittees.
