Randy Skinner, assistant director of engineering and capital projects, introduced proposed code amendments to four chapters to align the city code with the recently adopted Cedar Park Transportation Criteria Manual and to clean up outdated references to the City of Austin manuals. "One of the actions that we had was actually go through and develop a city specific Cedar Park transportation criteria manual," Skinner said, and staff explained the manual will go into effect in late June.
"We actually lowered that threshold from 2,000 to 1,000," a Goodman Corporation presenter said, explaining the change was intended to capture redevelopment and increased trip generation so the city can better evaluate impacts. Commissioners discussed requiring a licensed professional engineer for proportionality checks and asked clarifying questions about chapter reorganizations. The commission approved the amendments by roll call.
