The Township of Roxbury Planning Board re-elected Charles Bautz as chair and selected Michael Shadiack as vice chair during its reorganization meeting on Jan. 7, 2026. Councilman Jim Rilee nominated Bautz; Councilman Robert DeFillippo seconded the nomination and the motion carried on a roll call vote.
Councilman Vincent Reilly nominated Shadiack for vice chair with John Wetzel seconding; the board approved the nomination by roll call. Robyn Lance administered the meeting’s opening procedures and led the Pledge of Allegiance. As the meeting opened, Lance read the notice required by the Open Public Meetings Act: “Adequate notice of this meeting of the Township of Roxbury Planning Board was given as required by the Open Public Meeting Act …”
The board also administered oaths for reappointed members including Jim Rilee (Class 1), Michael DiDomenico (Class 2), Robert DeFillippo (Class 3), Michael Shadiack (Class 4) and John Wetzel (Class 4). A roll call taken at the start of the meeting recorded attendance of board members and staff, including the board attorney and engineers.
The selections and oaths were procedural actions taken as part of the board’s annual organization; no public comment was received during that portion of the meeting. The Chair subsequently opened the public portion later in the meeting and closed it after no speakers came forward.
